Saying No Without Burning Bridges
Taking on everything is not the same as being helpful. How to decline work while staying easy to work with.

A shape that usually works
- Acknowledge the ask so the person knows it landed.
- Be concrete about the trade-off: what would slip if you took it on.
- Offer the decision to whoever owns the priorities, rather than absorbing it.
- Where you can, offer a smaller version you could genuinely do well.
Done this way, a no reads as clarity about priorities — which is a good deal closer to how senior people are expected to operate.
